چکیده
In a healthy human, the internal tissues, e.g. blood, brain, muscle, etc., are normally free of microorganisms. However, the surface tissues, i.e., skin and mucous membranes, are constantly in contact with environmental organisms and become readily colonized by various microbial species. The mixture of organisms regularly found at any anatomical site is referred to as the normal flora. The normal flora of humans consists of a few eucaryotic fungi and protists, but bacteria are the most numerous and obvious microbial components of the normal flora. A healthy foetus in utero is free from microorganisms. During birth the infant in exposed to vaginal flora. Within a few hours of birth oral and nasopharyngeal flora develops and in a day or two resident flora of the lower intestine appears

Microorganisms are a necessary part of everyday life. Many, known as resident or normal flora, adapt and live peacefully with the human body, providing benefits such as vitamin production or cellulose digestion in the intestines, and protection from disease-producing pathogens. Transient flora may stay for weeks to months but do not remain permanently because of fierce competition from resident...

متن کاملThe Fungi Flora of Healthy Nasal Mucosa in Kerman, Iran
Introduction: Environmental fungi, molds and yeasts, can infest the nasal cavity through inhaled air. There is some evidence that they could be the main cause of Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS) but little is known about the normal fungal flora in the human nose. The objective of this study was to assess the normal fungal flora of the nasal mucus in adults in Kerman. Materials and Methods: We ...

The nature and magnitude of fluid and electrolyte loss into the small intestine were defined by the marker perfusion technique in patients with acute undifferentiated diarrhea (AUD) in the tropics. The patients were divided into two groups according to their small bowel bacteriologic findings, namely those with a predominant Escherichia coli flora and those with a mixed flora. 11 normal subject...
متن کاملStudy of Skin and Nail Candida Species as a Normal Flora Based on Age Groups in Healthy Persons in Tehran-Iran (2016)
Skin as the largest organ of human body is significantly colonized by a variety of bacterial and fungal population [1,2]. Today the percent of opportunistic fungal infections is increasing, so when considering the role of skin as a reservoir from which infection of a susceptible host can occur, determining the fungal microbiome specially Candida is important [3]. Two of the most factors influen...
